ABOUT US

Headquartered in khartoum, the capital city of Sudan-somali Youth Capacities Development Organization (SYCDO) is a non-profit, non- partisan, non-governmental, youth led organization founded in August 1999 by a group of Somali youth activists. SYCDO was formed specifically to build strategic networks of young, social change leaders, development practitioners, and key decision-makers.

The goal of SYCDO is to create an atmosphere in which Somali youth can express their voices, involve in the process of peace building, and reconciliation and in political decision- making procedures that affect their future.

SYCDO is committed to establish youth empowerment programs that are dedicated to social change and struggles to harness Somali youth energy and passion to build a democracy oriented society that promotes positive values such as; peace, democracy, equality, good governance and justice.

Besides peace and democracy, SYCDO works in the field of emergency response.

Coverage Area
The organization operates in and covers Banadir, Lower Shabelle, Middle Shabelle, Hiran, Bay and Bakol regions of Somalia. It works very closely with the target communities in its coverage areas in a participatory approach. SYCDO always considers credibility, transparency and accountability with the stakeholders

OBJECTIVES

The Somali Youth Capacities Development Organization (SYCDO)of OBJECTIVES Reproductive health.
1) The main objective of this programme is to encourage young people to live positive and healthy life style and become role models of their own. Activities include: Human immunodeficiency virus / acquired immunodeficiency syndrome Environmental Health and Safety Integrated Youth Development

(2) The main objectives of this programme is to provide young people with skills that enable them to become responsible citizens and active. Activities include: * Vocational guidance staff development
* Employment and Preparedness * Self-discovery * Contact * Business skills
(3) Call for civic education and literacy programmes for the Somali people
(4) advocacy and research
* To assist in the search for lasting solutions to peace, unity and development among Somalis, Africa and the world as a whole.

* To help young people acquire skills and self-reliance and anti-poverty programmes. To participate in local and international peace and development, conferences and seminars. To strengthen the agricultural sector through capacity building and provision of heavy machinery

Having) (SYCDO continuously disseminate new information to help keep young people in all parts of Somalia. This includes the development of youth information, journals and reports issued by the Youth Employment Summit. We have divided this information to be easy to introduce categories.
